Arthur Calder
Home-services business owner and editor
Arthur Calder is the pen name of the founder of this site. He runs a home-services company with its own crews: quoting jobs, scheduling people, buying materials, paying for insurance and chasing invoices are his day job, not a research topic.
That is the point of view the guides are written from: the owner who has to quote the job, pay the crew and still make a profit.
His business operates in Europe, not in the United States, the UK or Canada. So for anything that depends on local law or regulation, such as insurance requirements, workers' compensation or licensing, he does not rely on opinion. Those guides are built from official sources (state regulators, government agencies and insurers' own policy documents), and every source is linked at the end of the article.
He is not a licensed insurance agent, lawyer or financial adviser, and nothing on this site is professional advice. If you spot an error, write to the address on the contact page: corrections are published with the date.
Writes about: Pricing and estimates · Starting a trade business · Business insurance · Field service software
